Hot Tub

Not sure how hot they were keeping it, but customer turned hers off after leccy price rise, was costing £5/day just in leccy :X3:

So I reckon if that £5 day to keep warm let alone getting it up to heat every changeover day and the time needed to do the changeover you could be needing £2k a year extra to run it.

I'm sure that is gettable in the current market

Horrid things

can’t understand why anyone would want to sit in a hot soup of bacteria, chemicals & other peoples bodily fluids 🤮
You've never sat in one in the middle of winter with a beer, good music and company staring at the Northern lights then?

Neither have I- well not the Northern Lights bit! Seriously though a hot tub is great for holiday cottages etc as a "now and again" thing, our home one hasn't been used since the winter, which anyway is the best time to use a hot tub IMHO.

On farm tour we were in Jackson Hole, snow on the ground, but about 15 of us in the hot tub with drinks on tap, what a hoot that was! Mad as a box of frogs the lot of them

i love to sit around a small fire in the mid winter, looking at the perfectly clear sky, with a glass of wine / rum / whisky in hand. I understand that perfectly.
You lost me with the music & the company though . . . 🤣

and I do like sitting in hot artesian bore baths here, I just don’t like sitting in all the chemicals required to keep hot tubs clean & the fact that the water isn’t “fresh” . . .
Don’t really want to sit in such close proximity to other people either tbh

but, whatever floats your boat I suppose

I’m not a huge fan of the hot tub, however we stayed in wales last November with some friends and we had a hot tub
After a hard cold day enduro motorbiking through the Welsh forests, a big tea, into the hot tub with a huge jug of G&T, music and a clear dark sky full of stars it was a great time with great friends

EVERY part of that sounds ideal to me, apart from the hot tub :ROFLMAO:
Id rather just sit around a fire pit tbh

I have wood fired hot tubs on my clamping site. not much hassle and guests love them. refill and clean between guests and they empty and clean it themselves daily during stays. no chemical and I charge extra for hot tub use and extra wood.

I agree with not wanting to share a tub with others.

However, someone we know has just opened a new large holiday let and the advice from the agent was to put in a hot tub, people do look for it and would book a place with over one without. It is something for them to do extra to normal home things.

However, the owner seethes when she has to clean it out - she hates the work it involves.

There's an easy way and a hard way.

Ours get used most days in the winter. Kids will spend hours fooling around in there even at minus 30. Only problem I find is the getting out onto the snow or cold concrete to cover it back up all while dripping wet. Doesnt take long fir wet clothing to freeze. Pubes frozen to swim shorts is only funny the first time 🥶
