Hot water ideas for milk taxi

Evening all,
Just wondering what people use as a hot water supply when mixing up calf milk? Would need to be enough to feed 50 calves and possibly more in future so a kettle can definitely be ruled out . Thinking of getting a combi boiler fitted in a shed or using a steam cleaner to fill the milk taxi but would like to hear if anyone has any better ideas. Thanks in advance, GT

We are in the process of installing an instant gas boiler which can heat to 85degrees and then turned down to 40 for feeding calves. I wouldn’t think the steam cleaner would be that efficient just for heating water?

We haven't got gas on the farm but sounds good, almost like a combo boiler really. I know a few people who use steam cleaners and they work well, not sure how efficient they are but can also be used to clean the tractor which always helps haha

That sounds ideal, is it just a matter of plumbing a cold water line into it and getting electric to it or does it require a plumber to set up? And how expensive are they?

Yup, cold in.
Possibly a sparky for installation.
Price, haven't a clue tbh. Mine must be 30 odd years old and still going strong. Try getting a pressure washer to last that long.

Another benefit is you've drawn your water for 50 calves 150L+ in seconds. How long would you be stood there with a Lance?

Very true. Although i suppose you could do a few other jobs while it is filling. I'll speak to Loheat tomorrow and see what they've got

What heat exchanger system do you use?

A Delaval system. Its basically a hot water tank, water pump and 2 small plate heat exchangers (1 for each compressor). It does get 2 hot in the summer for washing your hands. Use the water for feeding calves and filling up the hot water boiler for washing plant.

Could you get a few pictures to get an idea if it would fit in here.

I’ve got the same but it only gets to 30*, the new plate cooler arrangement hammers the milk temperature down before it reaches the tank.

Not the best place to take a picture but you'll get the idea.
