For some reason I am not getting some emails that should definitely becoming though. For example ordered something from Maplin, email confirmation sent but never arrived. This has happened with severla companiesand I am sure my email is correct etc. The things that go missing are not in the Spam folder, nor the Deleted folder. They just aren't there. Any idea what is going on?

I've got an old hotmail email address that I use for anything like entering a n online competition, it saves me getting loads of rubbish to the normal one! I tried to use it last night and it wouldn't be accepted. I gave up in the end, but I did wonder why it wouldn't work.

They might’ve had an outage. Although any mails should get queued by the counter party email servers and send re-tries over a 48 to 72 hour period, so they may eventually come through. For service status and outages see: https://downtoday.co.uk/outlook-problems/

Otherwise good practise is to change your password regularly for the service to make it less likely your account is hacked.

Finally if all else fails set up a permanent divert to another platform like gmail and pickup/send your email from there.

Yes, think I will change to gmail. Every day now I get 15 or so spam emails on Hotmail, regardless of how I set the filter. I think they have lost the plot.

Just such a pai to change - all of the account log-ins that use your email address.

Often, when I send to hotmail, the messages never arrive, nor do they bounce, or end up in the spam folder.
