House pig

If ever you have to load or move a pig, remember this easy trick. Get a bucket with a good handle (ideally a metal bucket, or a small dustbin) and some feed in the bottom. When the pig puts its head in to eat, pull the bucket up tight against its head and grab the pig’s tail. The pig will instinctively try to back out of the bucket and as it does you keep the bucket on tight and steer it with its tail.

Dead easy, I’ve loaded lots of pigs like this.

Gulli and Paddington, you are both negative thinkers and barstewards and I hate you ! I refuse to chase pigs going wee, wee ,wee down the road.....I did have a thought last night whilst waiting for the phone to ring to do just that, with a message along the lines of "I don't mind that old ewe grazing my lawn, but your pigs are rooting up my daffs and my stripy lawn isn't any more, looks a lot like the grenade ranges on Salisbury Plain after a heavy training session, here's my bill for reparation." The thought was, what would pigs do to a badger set if they were fenced in around one? Knowing my luck they would probably breed with the damn things and produce a "super" species capable of serious damage to all and sundry as well as being indestructible.
Just had another thought, badger set..........grenade......... maybe not....(The thought of pulling the pin and gently rolling one down the hole and the ensuing geysers of dust, dirt and old bones spouting forth from multiple holes in the ground is quite appealing though, might even find the missing sheep eartags that cost me 5% last year)

I don't think the pig is missing other pigs at all. He has a better life than plenty of yard dogs, and certainly has had a longer life than his siblings, who were sausages long ago! The young lady has registered herself and her premises for pig keeping and had"Charlie" castrated , under anaesthetic, by the Vets. When the weather was cold he moved into the pub's porch at night.:)
Is he an alcoholic yet?

Googled and found no result for this?

Do the females in your family have horses? Horses hate pigs. If not, might be worth getting a few (horses, not pigs).

Ha ha, we have three horses whose paddock is between our micro pigs and our original sow pen, they don't care in the slightest even when the micro pigs get out and are running around the paddock or sleeping in the horses hay pile.....

Here’s our new little piggies for over the summer.

Oxford Sandy and Black with a quarter Large Black.

Had some last year for the first time and it worked really well having them in the shed while it’s empty.

Was a little unsure whether they were a bit too traditional however the eating quality and taste has been superb.

Highly recommended.
