Househam Sprayers: good or bad?

As per the title. I did a search on here but couldn't find much.
We currently have an elderly Bateman RB16 and we are thinking of changing up for something newer. We like Bateman, partly because they are a good machine but also the backup is great and the factory is only a 2 hour drive from us. Plus we know the machines. That said, tidy S/H ones that fit our need are thin on the ground so we thought that we would widen the search to other machines.

Any opinions on the Househams or any other makes - Sands, etc...

I'll bite. In my opinion they are good. We have an 2004 AR 2500 with approx 9700 hours and a 2019 Spirit with 3500 hours and an old Sprint we converted to a fertiliser spreader. No major issues with any of them spares are easily available from them and they aren't unpleasant to deal with.

Widen your search to a sands vision. We went from a ar 3000 to. 4000 vision can’t fault it. Paint finish and the panels plastic and fibreglass still look like new and it’s nearly 10years old Where as househam started to look old after 5/6 years with metal edges panels rusting. Plus the service and back up are great too

We've a 2019 spirit here it's settled down a bit now .

Nothing major but the electrics seem poor quality .

We 100% wouldn't have another
What electrical problems have you had? We’ve been very happy with ours but miss the Airride suspension but now that’s available so our choice would be upgrade to an Airride or just another Spirit.

We have a 2012 Househam AR3500 and are waiting on a new 4000l when they can get it built.
Old one is a bit noisy in the cab and i was pleased to see they now use the Claas cab.

we’re about an hour and a half from them to get parts which has worked okay over the last decade, and fortunately we’ve not had many issues at all!

Ours is on air bags.

Just stupid stuff blowing fuses for the cab fan I had a wiggle at all the wires and it's not done it again so god knows what's wrong.
we've had plugs coming apart etc it did melt a plug and they're just cheap crap

And having lots of issues with satellite signal with the arag junk .

It was blowing O rings in the wheel motor pipes but seems to have stopped now we're onto about the 4th type of O ring

The engine ecu went wrong

And the biggest bug bear is it's crap at climbing steep stuff and if you do manage to get up it feels VERY unsafe coming back down

I don't like having to pump up the airbags and we've repaired one. We've had no electrical or satellite problems though and we''ve got no hills so no problems with motors. I do think the Airrides are stronger though but they're more expensive too.

Ours is all self levelling so I assume it's a newer version of suspension.

The cab is terrible for a tall operator I'm 6ft my boss is taller he drives it 90% of the time and that's his biggest complaint he can't get the seat far enough back to be comfortable

On our second here. First was a super sprint that arrived with about 4000hrs and left with about 8000 and now an Air Ride which is now on 4,400 hrs. We’re an easy home with no spuds and no liquid fert but we would happily have another one.

Yes I think because ours is a tier 3 export model with a CAT engine no compressor.

I think if you’ve had the Bateman experience you’ll be disappointed with anything else…

Thanks for the replies. I just need to get upcountry and have a look at one or two different machines. But as you say ewald, the local backup plus build quality, are major factors.
