Some empty spaces on shelves here. The whole supply chain is just running below capacity at the moment.
Would you expect much UK veg on shelves on May 1st?
Lack of lettuce in ours and veg is sometimes a bit thin. Prices rising steadily. Reckoning is coming ,can't wait!
Can't wait for what?

To be appreciated/wanted by the consumers/gen pop…

We had some salad a few weeks ago that was very gritty and I joked with the wife asking had she pulled it off the beach, the next week ASDA and other supermarkets had a must wash before consumption warning due to sand storms where the salad had come from (Spain?)

The realisation of people and government that you throw domestic production under the bus at your own peril. Food shortages are something that NZ and potentially Australia will never experience given the high levels of food production in relation to population size. The fact that Whitehall seems intent on implementing policies which aim to import most of our food from countries most exposed to climate change, is both alarming and idiotic.

Quite regularly get the "LIST" if collecting something from town. Since begining of year some items or sizes not to be found, but yesterday in our nearest ASDA quite a shock, "cooking oil" almost empty section, only product available was the expensive glass bottle types, doubt if there were more than 30 bottles in total on a 8ft floor to top shelf section. A sign of things to come?
Fruit and meat sections were fairly well stocked, but finding up here fruit quality is not what it used to be. Isn't ripe enough to eat when bought and when it is ready to eat some already gone off.

I HATE SHOPPING at SUPERMARKETS>but I need to eat.

Let them eat wallpaper.

Soz, couldn’t resist.

On the plus side, disappearance of industrial seed oils is a good thing.

Starve the people. Good idea they’ll be so grateful they’ll be coming to your farm to thank you and to encourage you to do more. Or maybe kill you and take what they need. Be careful what you wish for.

If its the only way for our corner of western society to reconnect with food production then so be it. Easy access to food (and water) is the one thing that allows everyone in this country to do all the other benign activities they fill their lives with. Civilisation exists because of farmers, full stop. We aren't asking for a rich wage or celebrity status, just that we're acknowledged as a necessity and part of the fabric of society, instead of being vilified on a daily basis.
