The best deterrent is the certainty of getting caught. Publishing video crime on Youtube seems pretty effective.

Who but a fool deals with someone known to be a crook? "Cheat me once, shame on you. Cheat me twice, shame on ME" -- old Chinese proverb.

in the area ive lived all my life? up to the early 1970s we not only had a large police station in our local small town, wickford, but also a police house in my local village, the village policeman used to patrol the local area and he knew everyone? now roll the clock forward to the present. The population of my local area has i would say more than doubled andboth the police stations have shut? common sense tells me what message of winning does that give out to local crimminals ?

another very important point, why was the policeforce reduced by some 20,000 ? the crime rate hadnt gone down? i think that the govt isnt honest with the people and say it was a cost cutting, robbing peter to pay paul ? the country as a whole spending more money and borrowing more than we get in as taxes ? loosing more than 2 billion pounds in tax from counterfiet cigerettes was one statistic i found frightening ?

If the houses had halved possibly ok but as said they should have upper the tempo not closed it?
Kids respected and knew a knock on the door or stearn telling off or fear to tell your parents was enough.
