How are thieves punished in your “COUNTRY??

Having read several books from the same author, one particular book dealt with the issue of complete social breakdown if the Country went bankrupt.

Along with many other problems, the ideas for crime prevention were simple and straight-forward.

On admittance to prison the prisoner was kept in a single cell, given basic food. For a menial offence, the offender was set a task. The task was to take 5 tons of house building bricks off a pallet (by hand) and load them onto a empty pallet. Once the task was finished, and completed correctly they were released.

If they re-offended, the number of pallets was doubled......................

Customer of ours in South Australia caught a couple of thieves stealing his kids motor bikes. He'd been targeted before but the police couldn't catch them.

After a brief chase across a couple paddocks, he and his neighbour caught one of them, tied him up with duck tape, threw him in the back of the Ute, put the tarp over him and drove him straight into the police station. Of course, he didn't know he was going to the cop shop. He thought he was being taken out bush to be burried!

The cop just told him he'd picked on the wrong bloke, gave him a new pair of trousers and locked him up. Gotta love proper country cops!

Something tells me such a pragmatic approach wouldn't be so likely to succeed in this country!

Someone showed me a video a couple of weeks ago, looked to be in the Middle East or India type area, ware a young lad had been caught stealing a strimmer. They made him stand with his hands flat together while they put a bullet straight through his palms.

I got the feeling he would think twice before doing that again.

This lot AND two of their dads were causing havoc in and around the Norfolk & Suffolk area. With care and attention they were finally caught. It took a long time and the £'s stolen ran up in BIG increments. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a push from 'on high' to solve the problem as it seemed to be a 'Tony Martin' situation waiting to happen all over again. They had two fathers able to make false number plates and sell on the tools that they had acquired in their efforts. I wonder if the Kwik-Fit franchise garage near Denton in Naaaarfik is still operating as this is where their HQ seemed to be.
I took it upon myself to ask very poiltely any retired police constable operating a speed-camera van what was happening as this was the only way I felt I could put pressure on their 'doing' something. Whether it was worth my time I can't say but it gave me satisfaction.
Anyone who lost tools/tractors/ATM machines will be looking to 2025 which isn't really a long time as this is when they will be out and about again. Thing is they were really very, very good at their trade and what does the future hold when they know exactly where tools are kept on any of the many properties they visited! Plus they have learned more in HMP!

Our neighbours had two Gators stolen last week. Took my road gates off so the cows were free to wander onto the road, then came through my field and drove the Gators out through the security fence and hedge, Then this week, we have already had the JD grassmower tractor stolen from the secondary school and another JD groundcare tractor stolen from the local school for kids with special needs. This is just in our small town, pop 15.000 , and no-one sees a thing and the police (who are based half an hour away since the station was sold for flats) aren't interested. Of course it may have something to do with the steam fair being up the road, but it really feels as if it is spiralling out of control.

New trousers? To replace the ones he s**t himself in?:LOL:

I would, without any hesitation shoot anyone I caught stealing my animals or implements. I wouldn't mind being banged up for the rest of my life, instead of a old peoples home. If us farmers made it clear we would protect our property to the max perhaps these thieving barstewards would think twice

In Scotland if you are an urban retard doing 120 in a 30, smash 10 parked cars and 3 cop vehicles, headbutt and spit on the arresting officer you'l get a £50 fine and lose your licence for 3 months. If you are an employed man speeding on an empty motorway at 3am you you will have a court appearance, lose your licence for a year, get a fine and a victim surcharge. Or so it appears on all of the Police Camera Action shows.

Talking to locals in Muslim countries, they always tell you of how the Q'uran promotes being at peace with your neighbour and a generally non violent life. The streets are safe to walk at night and you can leave your car unlocked apparently. Yet houses in rural areas are surrounded by compounds with walls topped with barbed wire or glass, CCTV on entrances, barred windows and doors, guard dogs etc. I have wondered if this is traditional way or down to modern crime rates ?
