How are you going to react to Brexit?

Like many of you I’ve been following Brexit from the beginning, listening reading and watching the constant coverage of politicians suggesting policy ideas and ways to move forward with Brexit.

But what I haven’t seen or heard of anyone doing is actually asking farmers in the UK. How are you going to change come Brexit if at all? how it affects your plans for the future? And how you feel changes will affect your farming business and your family’s livelihood? Despite the fact that the Agricultural sector may be one of the most effected. Without which how groups like Defra, and the NFU think they can help is questionable, but maybe I’m wrong?

Therefore, for my final year dissertation, I am undertaking a study that records responses to statements in relation to 2 scenarios. From which we plan to create a predictive model, which can be used to plan ahead by looking at how farmers of the UK are likely to react to changes.

So if you think that you might like to help. Please click the link below to complete my survey. It only takes 5 minutes and i hope that it can be used to help agriculture in the UK

Also if you have any thoughts on planning for the future with Brexit Please let me know

Alastair, I wish you well with this but really what you are trying to do is bordering on the absurd, how I am going to react to Brexit?, well it depends on what actually happens, and so far that is not a lot. Events dear boy, events............

Hi ski,
Thanks for the comment any feedback is appreciated.
What we have done is research Brexit so far, looking at information from various sources and compiling that to create two scenarios, a Soft and Hard Brexit.
Then we are asking in relation to this proposed scenario, on what scale you agree with a statement (which has been created on the basis of past research).
While the Brexit scenario may not be the true outcome in the end. The reaction to the statement will enable us to create our behavioural model. its a system that has been used many times over.

Pretty much the same.

The farm continues on it's way weathering the storm of HMG & Environmentalists.

Me personally I'm taking several alternative paths at the same time, gotta keep your options open as much as you can.

Shame we have a government only too happy to go against ordinary tax payers .. I shall fall over dead in shock if they ever tax the offshore companies.

Hi Wanton Dwarf,

Thanks for the comments, what you’ve just said
“Me personally I'm taking several alternative paths at the same time, gotta keep your options open as much as you can.”

Is the kind of response I’m looking for within my survey as it is a behaviour identified in past research, where farmers have diversified or kept their options open in the face of adversity.
If you could spare 5 minutes to fill it in that would be brilliant.

Thanks, Alastair.
