How deep should spuds be planted?

Traditionally they would be planted shallow and then earthed up. So plant with 3" cover then keep covering with more soil after they have leaves. Leave room below for tubers too. Don't plant on bottom of pot.

I plant ours 15cm (6”) down in the row on the field.

Deeper, and the plant will take a long time to come through, using up energy and losing time above the surface for developing a canopy.

Id say 15-20cm deep in a pot.
