How do you deal with burnt ground after burning hedge trash ?

try and lay a few bits of hedge each year , tend to push up brash in pile and burn on grassland , some places it leaves a burnt spot others it disappears what do others tend to do , is it worth rotavating and seeding spot , or is it the ash causing regrowth problems

The heat of the fire has cooked all the life out the soil, cultivate and seed and should be good.

The ash is plant food - in the Amazon slash and burn is what they practice to plant crops on new land whan the old is worn out.

Do nowt, it soon grows back unless you're having huge fires.

Expect a dirty great patch of thistles in the summer ,,for some reason a good brash fire makes them grow very well ,even if there wasn't any there before

Very true, I am about to pop around with the mini sprayer and take out mine.... hopefully tomorrow.

It will be like rocket fuel when it regrows, everytime i have one the wheat is about another tonne an acre where the bonfire was

I just throw a few handfuls of grass seed into the ash/soil and rake it about.

tried that , wont grow , its why i asked the question .
