How do you spray around poles and trees

I always drive right up to it. Back back. Half circle around the pole. And back up to it again. Driving around in a circle always scorched crop with growth regulator and others. And hat people who spin around in a circle at the end on scoots. Just back back enough in the tram line that you have enough room to turn around. Looks much neater and less crop damage.

Depends where it lands on the booms, if just on the break back just slow down and flick past it, anywhere else spray up to it fold in enough to get past, fold out reverse back to obstacle and spray away

Weird one. Why when drilling do tramlines always end up bang on in middle of a pole!

We’ve got fields that have them in the tramlines and on the end so was just wondering what others were doing at the moment were the same as Bob the builder

One field 6 poles, line them up and drill off result no obsticles in field but extra short runs. Other field keep short work to minimum and get 14 poles & pylons direct hit. UK power wanted to put lot of cable under ground thus reducing pole numbers but landlord wouldn't sign way leave

Drive right up to them. Back up a bit, fold up, drive past, fold out, back up, set off again.
I try to start drilling in line with the poles and work off each side if practical so just the break back brushes as you drive past but this can lead to too much short work if the line goes diagonally across the field. Sometimes with the Bateman you can just fold in enough to squeeze past without having to lift, fold right up and sit it on the rests.

I bought a battery powered cahainsaw and just cut a bit out above and below boom height so I can just drive straight thru,

Count yourself lucky you are not on salad crops with no headlands and poles? Or maybe you are? I remember a long while back I had 72 folds in one field! I can t remember what the are was maybe 40 acres? Only reason I know that? Field was like a big triangle with poles everywhere and said for the craic I would count them!
I drill so the poles are at the end of the boom used to drive next doors 12 spraying going his fields too , big pylons there drove through them slowly as booms bent behind as you crept through. Middle of pylon cropped back them 6m drill made it through

Err, just do a circle around them & let Field IQ ( or whatever section control system you are running ) turn sections / nozzles off & on as required to avoid too much overlap

Just for the record, I don’t have ANY power poles anyway
but, pre “fancy gps”, we’d just do a circle around. Sod stopping & folding the boom & reversing up etc etc . . .

But I have picked cotton ( in flood irrigated fields with hills / furrows ) in fields with many power poles & had to reverse & bounce over furrows etc etc - it’s a real pain I will admit. While also looking above to make sure there is clearance with the wires . . .

not being difficult or “big noting” or anything . . .
but spray rigs & chemicals are very expensive items.
you'd be struggling to find any contractors machine or spray rig on an arable farm here these days without “fancy gps”. The input costs are too high to not have it, especially compared to the price of the technology ( which is relatively cheap compared to machinery & chemicals )
As said before it’s different here. Some of our farms would fit in 1 of your fields. And my sprayer tractor and sprayer worth less than a proper good gps with autoshut off etc. Lucky I only have 2 poles on average per 100acs and one tower on the whole farm.
