I believe there are over 200 planning applications held up in Somerset due to the applications all flowing to the levels. This is houses as well all due to phosphate loading of the SSI.
i've heard that, as well. The catchment area of the levels is huge, we are near Wincanton, that's the 'stop', blackmore vale goes to the atlantic, this side goes to the bristol channel.

Well we now have a bit of breathing space, amazed how well I managed to travel, mostly just tread marks. But the owner of the house where we turn into this track put out a wheelie bin barrier as we just clip the edge of the verge as we come out, most of the verge is leaf litter from their trees and when I clear up to keep the piece, usually find road under it. AlO had a call from land lord following them receiving a complaint, was very vague, but reading between the lines, the two are probably connected. I try very hard not to upset neighbours, but struggle here to the point I keep away as struggle to bite my tongue. Anyway, off topic. Hopefully if we get another couple of dry days, I’ll manage to sneak enough out to see us comfortably into the new year and hope for a dry spell and we might get on some wetter ground with the cord

Or rather, his staff do while he films it!

Don't know about that, he seems to put the hours in. I think he's up every morning feeding out before the days work starts.

All that guy does is the two things I hate most about farming. Haul feed in and sh!t out.

I look at the the staff, machinery and infrastructure he needs, compared to the same number of cows here and the difference is amazing.
We don't get the weather he does though and he's surely sending a lot more milk than a 2000 cow unit here.
His biggest problem seems to be land spread everywhere.

our tower is 2/3 full, 3 yards roofed over this year has helped massively, without them and the amount of rain weve had thusfar this winter I would say we would be looking at needing to relieve some pressure if not before, certainly very early in the new year.

we made and built most of our dairy sheds, guttering was just 'one of those things' that got talked about, but never quite got done, anyway, more water in the lagoon, easier to umbilical! So despite being mainly covered, yards still had rainwater going onto them, but the cows could eat, in the dry. So busy doing the gutters, quite a job, with differing roofs, etc, plus making the out flow, against the natural direction ! The amount of water, that comes off the roofs, is quite shocking, and makes you realise, how quickly the lagoon filled up, so our EA nerd, has probably been of some use, coupled with some new ditches, dug to stop surface water getting to the farm, one hell of a difference.

Yeah I’m sure they are double NZ output per cow. Easily spending 750000 per year hauling manure though
