Mounted ? ....41cwt ooooooo
Mounted ? ....41cwt ooooooo
We don’t offer a mounted 2 rotor rake. Too many folk want to use modest tractor so got to go Trailed.Mounted ? ....41cwt ooooooo
@Martin Holden is 12 meters the biggest rake you do replacing the Krone Swardo 1400 this year. Many thanks
Best and most true post I read in a while.Too be fair I think most people expect too much from their rakes irrespective of make, pushing on at 10mph in the crops we have in UK/Ireland not to mention often not the driest neither.
It may be totally unfashionable to say it but a gear or two less and take a hit on workrate would go a long way to save abuse.
They want €19 k here for the model above .how much they go for ?

Interesting observations! As I stated earlier in this subject, SIP used to build the Krone rakes and tedders (not sure if all or part of the ranges) so in fact there’s more similarity between SIP and Krone. The rotor heads are similar. To be fair the designs have diverged a bit in the last few years as internal developments have taken both down different routes. If the Lely reminds you of the SIP I would suggest that Lely May well have copied SIP in fact.SIP rakes to me seem very similar to the Lely Hibiscus rakes. In particular the rotors and cam tracks. I would say identical in fact? Rake that has impressed me the most in the last while has been the modern Krone Swardos, seem really well designed and heavy and strong to boot. And can travel at a nice pace in good crops/ Would not rate the lely, claas or fella for contract work on the typical crops experienced in the UK and ROI.
They look a decent machine, used to have 2 stoll rakes and the newest one was an absolute disaster. Been on Claas since and they have done me well
Did you have the M Pro series or the smaller 655? The 655 from around 2009/2013 were mainly made in China and the quality control was, well vacant! No idea where they are made now or how, so mustn’t judge new models as have no knowledge. If you had an M Pro which was either 8 or 8.6m they should have been fairly ok. Only the first batch had some issues. Actually the designer of the M Pro left Stoll to go to Claas, so small world eh?They look a decent machine, used to have 2 stoll rakes and the newest one was an absolute disaster. Pto engagement being fierce? The electronic switches tend to be “snappy”We've had a Twose branded SIP single rotor rake since 2009 and the only problem we've had is a roll pin breaking on the drive shaft (twice).
Both were M Pro 800’s the older green one was practically indestructible, the newer red one was the problem one. Could snap a time arm every other day literally, and it never hit anything in its life. Ended up parking it up and just using the green oneDid you have the M Pro series or the smaller 655? Aha, yes I think the early red ones had tine arm issues which were never fully solved, so they were dropped in favour of the 2 models also now available in New Holland colours. These don’t have sealed can track like the MPro range and indeed the SIP/KroneBoth were M Pro 800’s the older green one was practically indestructible, the newer red one was the problem one. Are there going to be any Sip 8.5m demo rakes knocking about early summer. Our local dealer is selling them, impressed with the look of them, but would ideally like to try oneOk I remember. The red ones

Yes, I am planning to run an 850 for demos in May and June. It would be with the optional rear walking tandem axles on the rotors; they make a huge difference to how the rake travels. Fitted a set to one they was in steep rig and furrow last season and it transformed it. Have you considered a v rake? I bought a 4 rotor Claas last year and I'm happy with it but sorry I didn't go for a v rake now. So simple with little to go wrong and a fraction of the priceIt's between sip and krone , the sales rep for Sip is a neighbour and he's pushing me to buy one , if they are as good as they look I'd have no problem buying one , big name companies are known to make poor rakes too.
I have looked at them but I'm not convinced that they work in all conditions . Time will tell , I know two contractors who have bought them recently. So time will tell.Have you considered a v rake?
