Well done on getting it in using the power of patience. Mine will be ready to put through the combine again at the end of the month but looks to be a ton per acre. Spent a nice day ploughing the straw in, but seeing how nice the land was after the subsoiler I was tempted to plant with wheat but am going to stick to the plan and follow with oats next spring.
A very respectable yield !!!!! ,,,, my 40 acre field was always going to disappoint , drilled to early ,,,, the other field which was planted 3 weeks later looked so much better , but still disappointed , still very little spent on the crop so not the total disaster once thought
Got ours combined eventually, but came in at 12-13%mc. Tried to dry it with our CF dryer, but if we got sufficient air flow it was sucked off the laterals and went out through the fan. So it has ended up going to a local store where they will probably crucify us with drying costs.
Linseed is a useful crop for us, but I am not sure I can put up with all the harvesting and handling issues.
For the last couple of years Linseed has been our most profitable crop , I'd be a fool to pack in growing it off the back of one poor year
How often would you grow it in a typical rotation, or do you just fit it in as and when?
I think it plays a part in the reason why I have controllable BG whilst many around me are really struggling
