17 votes so far an no-one seems to have an agreement active yet?
Had an email a couple of days ago from RPA acknowledging the delay in my application processing. Basically saying those invited to apply early were guinea pigs to test the computer system and they are processing applications in the order they were received. No indication how long they expect it to take.

Can we gossip about them missing the deadlines where they were going to allow hls/els es and cs agreement holders to make an sfi claim
Also can we gossip about pre sfi where they told the above agreement holders that sfi options could be stacked on stewardship
We were told at every meeting we went to going back a couple years that you couldn't do SFI options where they clashed with stewardship options.
your problem seems to have been bad advice,

Not really I have 3 sssi’s and moorland came under grazing restrictions because they decided I wasn’t allowed to feed on them so it was either stewardship or get nothing
I don’t know how many times you need to hear any of this before it goes in

You can't claim the same option on the same land at the same time (eg. you can't have cs wild bird cover and sfi wild bird cover in the same place in the same year), but you can have different options on the same land at the same time i.e, you can have sfi no insecticide on the same land at the same time as cs wild bird cover.
You can stack certain options, but not others.
That's where it becomes complicated.

Hope the tally sofar doesnt reflect the industry
23 up and paying
Sorting out 24 due to low returns (£)this harvest, dispite lower overall national yield, so future is SFI for now, if they let us back in. Or take it back for the black hole

With the problem on the system of not being able to claim all of our Cornish hedges and them not knowing why we can’t apply herbal keys to some fields mine has been on hold for a while.
The person in the email conversation suggested doing a second agreement for these bits once the system has been sorted. I am against that because it will make it more complicated down the line but with no hope of the system working properly I am going to reluctantly submit this agreement and leave the rest for later because it’s a decent chunk of cash which could be closer to being in my account rather than theirs.

Applied for 2024 agreement early August and not had any response back yet. Application was completed in June apart from some issues with options on certain parcels that I had to wait for RPA to sort out. Our 2023 agreement was approved and active within a week of application last October. Concerned that we will lose another months payment if they don't sort it out soon.

Treasury will be happy thou cos there will be even bigger underspend to go after next year.

Yep SFI 23 they seemed to have got sorted well, our agreement was active in days, it seems they have made a right balls up of SFI 24 though,
Glad we got a 23 claim together and didn't wait for "better options" as some did, shame about the 24 mess up as there are some things we could do on a 24 agreement that would bring in a bit more cash and wouldn't affect our farming, wait and see if they ever get it sorted I spose.

Not applied for a 24 agreement yet as there seems to be more needy folk in the uplands and I thought I would let them go first.

A good bit on the news tonight about hill farmers being locked out of sfi that other farmers have been claiming for some time
Hopefully something might start to happen soon
The SFI was invented when Theresa May was pm and Michael Gove was secretary of state.

So I very much agree with your comment, hopefully something might happen soon.

Why can't they just develop 10 options at a time, properly, and launch them? Or even one, and then stick with it. Various options have been changed 2 or 3 times in not much over a year.
