How long does a unused grid connection offer last

Had a developer who applied in there name for a 2mw scheme,6years ago which was never built. Is there a time limit on the grid connection agreement on a unbuilt site,or are they permanent.

Did they put the main payment down?

normally it’s a few £1000 for ask for a fag packet calculation which has a vague chance of being correct, then if you accept what they come back with they Make a more detailed formal offer and expect a big arse cheque to safeguard it.

that can last some time, a yr or so but not forever. You have to demonstrate you are working in the project, surveys planning etc.

i would have said if 6 yrs has passed then it’s probably elapsed.

TBH now a days a 2Mw Grid is not that exciting, 5 MW was back then but now it’s 49+ To make it viable.

if you are still interested ring up the DNO and ask if their quote is still live

i would of thought it would have expired by now.

if the developer had put down a deposit then timescales are dependant on the offer letter from the DNO

given current power prices some smaller projects are now viable.. depending on the cost of the grid connection

Grid connection validities were cut back in time scale some years back to prevent developers tieing up large areas and then cherry picking the best.
I think planning consents have at most 3 years if no atart is made, but once granted it can be presumed if should be easy enough to get permission again , unless there has been a big change in the local circumstances,
