The machine in question is a JCB 418s loading shovel that at 2000 hours started to come up with an error code for crankcase pressure , & with in a few hunderd hours it needed a complete new engine ,It has full JCB service record, , JCB had no shovels to put in to us to keep us going & the machine was parked up for 6 months until a new engine was delivered from Cummins , dealer has tried on our behalf to get some thing out of JCB , but nothing at all & JCB area service manager will not come out to talk to us this which is very poor just goes to should they have no interest in there customers , For a business like ours that has had JCB forklifts from 1985 & still run then , had fastrac's & loading shovels I find it hard to believe the service guy can not spare the time to come out & have a talk with us, As i said the dealer has done good job in trying to make this happen but Mr JCB will not take the time to talk with a customer

All so the drive line of this machine is still under warranty by JCB
Buy a Kramer next time!

I purchased 2 new Jcb 3230’s fastrac’s in February 2013 and in April 2014 and one let the engine go with bang
with about 2600 hrs on the clock .And Jcb replaced it with a new engine and supplied us with a tractor while it was being done 👍 and not charge me a penny for it they just replaced it and then sent the tractor back .
Then I sold them in nov 2014 with 3750 on the clock .
But it was part of this day which was not a good one when it blew up
Which I have mentioned before

I work on a place which is spitting distance from bamford world headquarters and they farm all around us. When we were looking at a new load all they passed us on to a dealer who couldn't even be bothered to get back with any information etc

Stuck with local well used dealer and had a case instead.

Every time we're in the seat carting straw past world HQ or the lord himself flies over in his helicopter we give him a cheeky little wave.

These people are representatives, you shouldn't have to go to the top. At one time of day bamfords wouldn't have another machine within a certain radius of the factory and would of bent over backwards to make that possible.

But you bought another?
I know,I didn’t want to but there doesn’t seem to be anything to match it lift wise
and that wasnt far away delivery wise has it had been ordered to come, and lead times on others we’re a long time
only one I haven’t tried is claas/ liebherr it’s difficult getting a demo either with a equivalent sized bucket or Jcb backplate

Do as @CPF did and document it in a letter to the big man, that’s what I would do

I keep telling you guys that JCB are selling too many machines to give a flying fudge about any individual one. With superior machines available from competitors I have no clue why you would ever buy one.

'Ah but it's worth more on trade in'... Yes, because of their popularity amongst the foolhardy. They are also more expensive to buy and run.

How many telescopics do you run?

We run 3 and we run JCB at the moment because the drivers like them and we get excellent backup from the dealer. The only other make we would contemplate at the moment is Merlo. The local dealers put us off the orhers.

A man has pleaded guilty at Newtownards Magistrates’ Court to waste offences relating to a bonfire next to the electrical sub-station on the Circular Road in Newtownards, Co. Down.

Gareth Gill (51) of Abbot’s Walk, Newtownards pleaded guilty to two charges under the Waste and Contaminated Land (Northern Ireland) Order 1997, for which he was fined £150 each and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy

On June 25, 2018, PSNI officers went to Gill’s yard, where they found a large amount of waste consisting of scrap wood, pallets, carpet and underlay.

Discussion with Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) officers confirmed the site...
