How long should a machine last

Scania would be pleased if Volvo sold more trucks, they will openly tell you that they have too much market share in the UK at the moment.
Boy do those Volvo 500 drivers not like having their doors blown off when being passed on hills, no flash in from a fair percentage. Mercedes drivers are much more gracious😄

The machine in question is a JCB 418s loading shovel that at 2000 hours started to come up with an error code for crankcase pressure , & with in a few hunderd hours it needed a complete new engine ,It has full JCB service record, , JCB had no shovels to put in to us to keep us going & the machine was parked up for 6 months until a new engine was delivered from Cummins , dealer has tried on our behalf to get some thing out of JCB , but nothing at all & JCB area service manager will not come out to talk to us this which is very poor just goes to should they have no interest in there customers , For a business like ours that has had JCB forklifts from 1985 & still run then , had fastrac's & loading shovels I find it hard to believe the service guy can not spare the time to come out & have a talk with us, As i said the dealer has done good job in trying to make this happen but Mr JCB will not take the time to talk with a customer

All so the drive line of this machine is still under warranty by JCB

A like for the report back. Sounds a fair evaluation of your treatment from JCB and I hope it gets seen by someone prepared to sort it.

A guy I worked with had Cummins powered Fastrac’s, the 185-65’s back in the day. He had a problem with the engine in one of them, and the dealer was as good as useless, as it was out of it’s then 1 year warranty.
At what was the S E D show, he got talking to people on the Cummins stand, who told him their warranty to JCB was 2 years.
It was soon sorted.
ive two old fastracs with cummins , ive a spare engine lying in waiting 😂 .
