Surely they won't bother with a clipboard inspection once it's £30 an acre.
Mines below and have had three inspections .Surely they won't bother with a clipboard inspection once it's £30 an acre.
Proposed payment rate that most farms can get will only be £8.91 acre and for that to qualify for it there is a proposed list of requirements that is as long as your arm!Surely they won't bother with a clipboard inspection once it's £30 an acre.
Should be payed to farmers not land owners
What do you expect the massive overstaffed inspections and cross compliance unit to do?Surely they won't bother with a clipboard inspection once it's £30 an acre.
Which means my sub claim would be just over £1000. Most of the land we farm we don’t hold the entitlements for. Always had it drumming into me that I mustn’t rely on sub. Admittedly we are lowland and haven’t got any other large landlords other than the NT but they only allow us 120 ewes over 140 acres from April -September so we don’t think about them much. So we can plough, reseed and farm how we like without anyone looking over our shoulders. Apart from the RPA, and when the carrot they offer is only £1k they can go jump.Proposed payment rate that most farms can get will only be £8.91 acre and for that to qualify for it there is a proposed list of requirements that is as long as your arm!
In real terms it will be about £1 acre payment year after you do all these requirements and take inflation into account!
Total non starter!

Bureaucracy at its finest. Lots of paper generated but no-one to do what is actually needed! All government departments can find endless sums for the enforcement budget.
Sadly they cannot find any for actually doing any proper work.
As the EA have shown recently, that’s purely optional.
You've been on the popSO a tenant farmer is eligible an owner occupier is not. Me thinks young Bobk you have not been thinking it through?!
Not quite that bad, more that it is a very simple business model and has been made much easier and simpler since I dropped CS and found an alternative income stream for the "stewardship" element. But does that mean your business has been paralyzed for years for fear of the RPA inspectors?
Thats ok until they want a full tag inspection and you have to bring every animal into the sheds, the 20mins soon disappears. Now there’s no greening to worry about, this years application took all of 20 minutes to complete. 230ha
