How low would BPS have to go before you stopped claiming it?

BPS is money for old rope compared with the nonsense that is SFI and the short period of time I spend completing the BPS claim is the best paid hourly rate I have ever earned. There is no lower limit.
SFI on the other hand is everything an anti farmer clip board carrying bureaucrat could have ever wished for so is a non runner here.

Surely they won't bother with a clipboard inspection once it's £30 an acre.
Proposed payment rate that most farms can get will only be £8.91 acre and for that to qualify for it there is a proposed list of requirements that is as long as your arm!

In real terms it will be about £1 acre payment year after you do all these requirements and take inflation into account!

Total non starter!

Which means my sub claim would be just over £1000. Most of the land we farm we don’t hold the entitlements for. Always had it drumming into me that I mustn’t rely on sub. Admittedly we are lowland and haven’t got any other large landlords other than the NT but they only allow us 120 ewes over 140 acres from April -September so we don’t think about them much. So we can plough, reseed and farm how we like without anyone looking over our shoulders. Apart from the RPA, and when the carrot they offer is only £1k they can go jump.
