A quote from farm minister Victoria Prentis saying " 10% of BPS claimants receive 50% of the money" ok not great but we all know how BPS works on a acreage basis. She then went on to say that "33% of claimants receive less than £5000" I couldn't believe it, why go through all that ball ache and risk for less than £5k and why didn't the RPA put in a minimum claim size of £5k and cut their workload by 33%?? All a moot point now of course but I had no idea 33% of English farms were small 50ac farms (assuming she's got her facts right). As BPS reduces at what point would you stop claiming to reduce cost, risk and admin burden?? I think for me it would be a couple of thousand....🤔
