We farm 150 acres and in a few years our sfp will drop to very little thinking of telling them to keep the money and farm how I want what's peoples thoughs

the question possibly needs reversing so to speak . what price would grain have to be to not bother claiming a reducing amount? cos at todays prices I need it if some dont

Very true, but there is a huge difference. As it stands at the mo, they hold all the cards and just deduct the percentage they feel appropriate. If SFP/BPS was not claimed, they would have to take you to court to claim the money - with the possibility of losing. It would cost them money. They just would not easily be able to do that if large numbers did not claim.
The RPA/DEFRA enjoy the control too much. Too many farmers do not fight their penalties because it's like banging your head against a brick wall. They (DEFRA/RPA) hide behind the bureaucracy and European rules and manipulate rules to suit themselves.
That is roughly the acreage I claim on as the rest of my rented land hasnt got any entitlements, I need to find the time to check exactly what I would be free of if I stopped claiming, I have kicked the ELS into touch and am not going to even bother looking at the new scheme.

No sensible business man is going to turn down amounts like 10k for the sake of half an afternoon filling in a form or chucking an agent a few hunderd to claim it for them weather they need the money or not ! if i had 20 million in my back pocket id claim in the low hundreds, look after the pennys the pounds look after themselves.

well play by the rules then and dont get a deduction, a 15% deduction of 10k is still better than not claiming !
You'd still have all the livestock movement, passport and TB testing rules. Also if your selling crops or livestock, your likely to still need farm assurance and local authority permits for feed regulations and waste licences. Then you need the relevant certificates for buying chemicals etc.
I can't see that there's much you can just ignore, if your a bona fida farmer.
Might as well get the payments while they're still here.
