How many decades would it take to reverse global warming???

It wasn't long ago that they stated we are in for another ice age?
Humans have only been here for a spec of dust measurement of time so weather cycles have not truly been understood long term in periods of stability possibly?

Gosh, I remember feeling anxious after watching the snowball Earth Horizon programme. I was still at school, and there had been a harsh winter or two.

The thing was that the statistics that led to the new Ice Age scenario had not been moderated (if that's the right word) by what was recorded about increased CO2 due to human activities since the Industrial Revolution.

Once those statistics were factored in, and computer modelling of weather patterns improved, a warming climate trend was detected.

Surely we (mankind all over the planet) must be very ,very slowly heating up the atmosphere, but as heat rises what layer in the high atmosphere is trapping the extra heat mankind is producing, is it the ozone layer ?
As heat rises ,unless there is a non penetrable barrier to stop that heat rising to eternity I do not understand how "man made global warming" can be causing so much damage to our planet.:scratchhead::scratchhead:

The Earth is c. 4.5bn years old. Coal, oil and gas are 350m years old, or less (coal is about 350m years old, oil 200m). Ergo all the CO2 that is currently sequestered in the ground as fossil fuels was once in the atmosphere forming part of the carbon cycle of the day, as all fossil fuels were once living plants and animals (the clues in the name). And the Earth was perfectly fine with all that CO2 in the atmosphere, in fact it was very fertile at that time. Thus the idea that we can destroy the planet by releasing all the CO2 by burning fossil fuels is nonsense, and only the ill informed (or deliberately lying) would say that was the case.
