Hi me again, after parking, or trying to park my new tractor (ford 7610 b reg 1985) on a hill the other day, and it not stay there, luckily I checked the hold before jumping out. I examined the handbrake cable, its a bit frayed so needs a new one, but I see there are holes on the mechanism, and wondered if I should have 2 cables, not one? Can anyone confirm please?

Well after a close inspection, I should have 2 cables, the routing bracket was missing on uk drivers side, so had to get that, but now I've got all the bits,

can anyone tell me the correct routing of the long cable, as it wasn't there before, so I dont know where it went. Cheers

It's a case of what length the long cable is if it's 76" from lever under l/h lift arms round back of top cover under r/h lift arms just remember to keep it clear of pick-up linkage as well you may need to make up some clips to hold it in place or if it's shorter try running it over top cover no sharp bends, if it rubs on anything put a bit of old hose over it...just don't forget some of this model only had one cable..

I tested it, and it only applied the brake to the left wheel, and on closer inspection I could see there had once been a bracket on the right. So have got the parts and added the extra cable now. I routed it under the spool block, under the top link bracket, under the left hand arms and up to handbrake
