How many members, really?

For some reason, as you do, I was looking at the map of members - I don't think there are 22,285. Some of the Chinese ones for example look dodgy, but look at the little guy by the "K" in Kentucky - loads of dodgy-looking names, I don't think there is a large enclave of Polish farmers in Kentuckyo_O but who knows. Anyway I was just remembering someone commented on the alleged lack of participation in the Calendar competition voting. How many accounts have been active say in the last year?

But even if only half of the accounts are legit, it's still pretty darn impressive!

Lots of visitors eventually sign up as members, because if you don't you can't see the pictures full size or play the videos, and then are often tempted to reply to posts.
What I would like to know is why some prolific posters just stop posting, what happened to @snowhite for instance?
