Do you spread the dung on your grassland? Wat time of year do you spread it? Does it put cattle off eating it?

No I don't spread it the cattle and sheep do. Cattle live out over winter on off farm field. Sheep go off farm for winter tack. Rotate cattle and sheep through same fields spring summer and autumn and provided the grass has enough rain and rest the animals keep eating it and do well.
Winter is rest and recovery time for home fields when most of the dung disappears giving good growth ready for when lambing and calving starts in the spring. Cattle winter field is then well manured to grow grass again for the next crop of ram lambs. Buy the haylage from the winter sheep tack fields to feed to cattle.
So I try and use all my manure one way or another without carting it around behind a tractor.
South Wales so it works here maybe wouldn't work in harder areas.
