Any update on this? It would be good to know, even if the answer is that you've agreed not to divulge any details.

no not agreed anything and not paid anything either yet, simply been to busy trying to get field work / harvest done so its a long way down on my priority list

Im sure when they want paying they will let me know !

this tractor is just out of warranty (typical) insurance / warranty costs a lot so you have to take a view on how much cover you have vs what your paying for it, I really would not have expected a minor breakdown like this to cost more than £1000 really not x3 that much !

Just spoke to MD of the dealers - his reaction "HOW MUCH !!" he couldnt believe it either and is off to take a look, the correct labour rate is £60/hr (more like it) so its seems there are 25hrs between 3pm and lunch the next day plus mechanics don't sleep ??

interestingly this stuff gets you digging so I just pulled out an invoice from last week for a service on another tractor - 7.5hrs booked which is odd as they got here at 8 and my weighbridge records show the same tractor bringing its first load over the weighbridge that day at 12.30

I think someone needs a new watch maybe ! ;)

Was that 'book time'? I know some car dealer so that even if jobs take half them time, service is X hours.

I had a similar experience with our now x plumber - when they tried to book 4hr to go get a part.

Update on this - all sorted now

Have ended up paying about £1000 after going through it with the dealer, much more in line with what i would expect this to cost, seems there had been some errors made

Credit to the dealer for sorting it out though

Had a "minor" breakdown a few weeks back, a cracked casting that had ti be replaced, mechanic called out at 3pm - parts ordered over night and running again by lunch the next day ...............£2796 !!

labour being £1500 of that and the actual cracked part being only about £500 worth !

the £95 'loctite' is just one line of the work of fiction they have sent to try justify the bill

Absiolute pee take ............. I wont be paying it

So basically somewhere along the line somebody wanted to rob you. Is it much more than attempted thievery?

THE BIG QUESTION REMAINS..........................

How much was the bottle of Loctite - still £95 ???

I'm sure it was just a case of :

An oversight in the accounts department.

Incorrect mark up on supplied parts due to software issues.

New member of staff fresh from the Fendt training course and mistakenly added two zeros on the end of the price instead of the more normal one !

Or possibly they didn't know Clive was the owner of TFF !

I'm sure it has all been dealt with under internal disciplinery procedures and couldn't possibly happen again !

the loctite was actually £95 it seems - not just regular loctite thread adhesive but some special use stuff

the big mistakes related to labour, mistakes do happen so I will give them the benefit of the doubt, they are a great dealership that looks after us well, sometime you just have to remind people you don't pay whatever lands on the door mat without looking at carefully
