How much for horse show

Hi,I have been asked if I would be interested in having a local horse show at the end of July, the field is approx 8 acres in total,it would suit me me because I want to plough and reseed the field in August,so if they make a mess it will not really bother me the field is not in any scheme but I don't know what to charge to hold the show for one day.

It depends who is doing the work.
Insurance, do you have to exclude areas to make safe, rubbish, loos, making sure they do not block the road. I know a venue that charged £500 just for a flat field.
If its a BHS riding club or pony club they will have group insurance.

1 day show
How many days set up ? And then number to clear site, topping of rings ,skip for rubbish,WC , road sweeper if wet on highway, tractor to pull off or on if very wet .
Need to charge some £ even if £500 to you is crumbs as next week the dog club or who ever will be knocking at the door for a free venue
Or ask them to pay % of your seed costs
Or you give back some of rent money as prize money as a sponsor for a class so they get more entries to help pay for running costs of the show

a lot of small horse shows are run to raise money for local Charites like the air ambulance for instance, if this is the case how about doing it for free, would be good local pr for you and sometimes it's just nice to do something nice for others

I am going to rent them the field and leave them to it
But I don't think I will bother for £500[/QUOTE]
It might be a not for profit show, and raise money for charity, do it for free

Even if they have their own insurance you will still need your own public liability insurance to cover the fact that you are renting the land out as suitable for their purposes. You will also have a duty of care to ensure that the site is safe.

Would always make a field available for suitable events, but recently have had a few horsey types running to police accusing tractors of frightening the horses and also not sticking to tracks
especially on reseeds.. Anything to do with horses is now banned
