It's when business interruption morphs into the whole year's consequential loss that things get more difficult, in my experience.

Fortunately, we've never had a big tractor down for five weeks (yet!).

normal policy is for 12 months cover but it can be extended if your business is complicate and would take longer than a year to get replacement kit

It’s cheap cover to add/increase. Ours is extended to at least 2 years I think. Some buildings can take a long time to clear site/demolish, and then rebuild especially as planning permission would be required too. Everything involving insurers doing a job seems to take 3x as long too.
