How rough did you feel after your first jab?

Even Mrs Danllan - obviously my strongest critic - will say that when it comes to injuries I demonstrate real stoicism, I've a fairly high pain threshold and I just grin and bear what I have to, regardless of what has happened - meaning what I have done to me. :banghead:

But that's injuries, when it comes to illness - and, apparently, vaccines too - I'm Wales' own big Jessie and know and admit it, and a hypochondriac as well according to Mrs D, who is always honest and right - and has told me this, so it must be true.

I had my first dose of AstraZeneca yesterday afternoon, and I can't remember ever feeling as rough as I do now barring Norovirus courtesy of the brats or Malaria in my youth. Mrs D says I'm imagining it, which I'm not, but she had the Pfizer jab, so what does she know? Ugh... :yuck:

My Mrs suffered for a day or so.
I didn't. In fact. I usually hurt so much, I swear I felt better! 🤣
One or two others I know suffered for a day or two also. That seems to be the extent.
Having my second AZ this arvo...after just eight weeks. Guess I'll suffer as I have annual herd TB test on Monday morning. Sods law and all that.

My wife had the AZ jab late Feb, as did 5 other colleagues of hers and they are the daytime On call fire crew for the area. They all had it the same day yet all different ages from 25-55 and they were all in bed for 3-4 days unable to move with aches, pains, fevers etc. As they all said if there had been a fire or responder shout none of them would have gone 😮
My wife had her second jab 2 weeks ago and felt fine 👍🏻
I had my first jab 2 weeks ago and I had a sore neck and arm, next morning very tired and I kept stumbling into things miss judging where tables and chairs etc were, I defiantly wouldn’t have been fit to drive first thing in the morning!! I slept for 4 hours in the afternoon and then I’ve been fine since 👍🏻

We are both 31 though

At the 36 hour point I was really bad with AZ, in bed all day and vomiting too

My best mate (35) had his a couple of weeks ago. Worst he's ever felt in his life, thought he was going to die. Has not decided if he is going for the second jab and he is by no means a vaccine critic

Oh great! Thanks for that chaps; today is peak lambing as well, if I'd any idea it would be like this I'd have put the jab back a fortnight...

Others be warned, you may not have any problems with your jab, but it could really be a pain, possibly even a very dangerous one, at grass cutting time or harvest. (y)

Edit: I'll still be going for the second one.

Get well soon. I’ve heard it said, that apart from protection from the virus, AZ bestows increased mental capacity, awareness, clarity thought and an overall sharpness of mind, on some recipients. Clearly you cannot be one of that particular cohort, so you will just have to accept its protection from the plague.

You're obviously not writing from personal experience, so who told you that? :)

Had the AZ jab 2 wks ago shivered all night and flu like for the next day but have felt worse
Someone told me the worse your reaction the better your immune system and the jab will be more affective don't know if this is true though.

Yeah... Mrs D said that, but she was laughing as she did so... 😍 🙄

Have taken some paracetamol, and that's finally kicked in and knocked the edges off it a bit. Still quite surprised just how rough it's been, makes one wonder how the real thing would be... 🤔

Got mine today, not looking forward to it at all!
I'll send this over when I've finished with it... (y)
