How to get a telegraph pole moved?

basically I'm widening the entrance to my farm so that I can get artics in and just make it look better in general,
The issue is there's a pole in my way it's a telephone cable pole it's really in the way even if I wasn't making the entrance wider it's been touched a few times, how do I get this moved and will I need to pay?
Or do I just hit it properly and they should come out and see it's in a daft place and that would be my problem resolved pretty quickly?

You need a friend who works for openreach to come out and say it's rotten /damaged and needs replacing.

Failing that give it a good shove and see what happens?

I had a similar problem with an electricity Pole. Told them that it was now in a dangerous position as the size of trucks has increased since the pole was originally installed. Was moved at no cost to me.

Scottish power wanted several thousand to move a post for us. Luckily one of their staff noticed it was starting to rot.

Wait till next storm and give it a wee push over . Then give them a phone

As bg said above. Play the health and safety card. What's more you may even get it put underground if alternative routes are awkward. If you offer to do the digging it could make an easy decision for them.

I've found BT (and even recently Western Power) quite co-operative recently about such matters. BT were super quick about it surprisingly enough.

NIE moved one for us at no cost as it was impeding access for combines and foragers, they shifted it bout 3ft over the fence

Just move it I yourself, we are currently moving one as its in the way of a barn conversion. We have just taken the wire of the pole and lift the pole out with the handler just got to dig a new hole now.

Im Possibly the luckiest person going right now.... pole being moved today from the council verge onto the other side of the road into my field a meter so now I get a rent for the pole it will be hardly anything mind you still made me happy!!
