How to get the motor off a sweeper brush

Hi all got a Sutton sweeper with a blown motor taken the 2 bolts off the motor and it's solid has anyone had the pleasure of trying to get one of these off before I'm assuming it's just rusted into the drive end of the brush or am I missing a bolt or something?

Pretty sure it's a square boss on the motor shaft that slides into the box section on the brush centre. Just be a bit more brutal. If motor is fooked then thrash it in every direction you can till it loosens

our Suton bucket brush motor has a square drive and box on the brush shaft.

Had the same with our suton brush a few years ago, it’s exactly as Dave said. We’re only 2 miles from the factory so dad went and asked about it, apparently the boss man doesn’t want the extra cost of putting copper grease on during assembly? needless to say when we replaced it there was plenty of grease used

Did mine last month , they are a bloody night mare, you will need gas axe for lots of heat .

They should have copper grease new , mine has now but was a twit to get to bits .

Well done , I thought it would be an hrs work about 4 hrs later lol ? much bigger job than I anticipated , mind and re assemble with lashings of copper grease for next time

Yes this one has turned into a much bigger job now since I've got it in bits it's getting all new bristles I broke the bearing at the other end in my rage with it so it should be like a new one now.

doesn't work out very cheap to rebrush one with all new spacers etc I thought.

I used old spacers , but new bearings copious amounts of time pleased I didn’t get a main dealer to do it would be cheaper buying new I reckon.

Was £240 for a full set of bristles £69 for the new motor and £10 for the new bearing the buckets in good order could have sold the lot for 600 then had to go for out and pay 3k for a new one. I'm happy with revamping mine it'll be as new when it's done

Consider yourself lucky, £360 for new motor on ours. Going to put a shaft seal (£60!) in instead, might last for another set of bristles.

Not doing the spacers is a false economy, when 1 rots and the whole shebang goes slack.

£60.00 for a shaft seal what's it made of carbon fibre.

It was the already recommended @Mr Happy that quoted for the motor. I just went for a seal kit (from him), which so far has wore out 2 more sets of brissles.

Those prices are 3.5 years old now, a lot of things have changed.
