How to move a dead horse?

I don’t think anyone is suggesting GE‘a behaviour was anything other than stupid and naive. We will never know the true context and it probably doesn’t matter anyway because what he did was stupid.
I do however think that his subsequent social (and other) media crucifixion is disproportionate and rather than ‘well, that’s a bit sh!t Gordon, FFS’ it’s like he is guilty of a Holocaust like crime.
A stupid mistake should not ruin ones entire life. He will face sanction from the IHRB and BHA and rightly so.
I don’t know him but have met him and some of his team. He came over as a bit of a clownish, cocky know all, but so many do in racing.
I still wouldn’t wish what has happened to him for what he did ( ill judged as it was) on anyone.

12 month ban, (6 months suspended ) and 15 grand!
Effectively 2 / 3 months . .
He's lost the Cheveley Park Stud horses, they've gone, all his sponsorships and the greatest thing of all he has lost is Respect

What a load of bloody carp this is,
see photos all the time of folk sat on live horses and no bugger bats an eyelid,
a photo of someone sat on one that is dead and won't give a sh1t anymore and the whole world goes mad,
FFS some folk want to get a grip and look for something that really matters to get all outraged about

How many people does Gordon Elliot employ? Probably 40-50 ? The man has been flung under a bus by the knee jerk feckwits . But the local economy, and the staff will be the ones getting the kicking.
If I had a racehorse, I’d sent it to him , he’ll have room for it !
80 staff.
Effectively its a 2 month ban as he doesn't have many summer runners. The licence transfers to an assistant. Tellingly unless I read it wrong, he's not banned from his yard. The only thing I'd say is if they'd given him a massive fine and no ban it would be done with. Now the media will drag it all up again when the horses run under his name again.

Could have had an addition to this thread but after having the other half's horse put down last night in its stable. Not wishing to star too predominantly on here I figured I had all bases covered, end stable in a big barn close to the entrance. Big Manitou on hand, a few straps close by which gave a truly stress free extraction of the said beast.
Managed to not have the straps slip, enough room to lift and move and all went with no problems

I'm sorry but your case has been heard by the Dead Horse Thread Review Panel (DHTRP) and judged to have lacked any individual merit and so they have asked for it to be stricken from the record. The panel do however, wish to extend their best wishes and are all glad you found this thread useful in your recent endeavours.

This thread is the definitive guide to keeping other half's less traumatised when their Dobbin bites the dust

We have a slight problem

17.3.hh shire cross collapsed and died in it's stable last night on our small livery yard. It is a BIG beast.

The problem is that it has died in about the worst possible place imaginable, at the end of an ancient stone barn with no way to get any sort of machinery to it. I have attached a diagram to explain

View attachment 29612

Has anyone got any smart ideas how i can extract this beast? I attempted to tow it out with a tractor and long strap today but that was useless just cannot pull in the right direction :cautious: rigor mortis has now well and truly set in...

Has anyone ever cut up a horse before View attachment 29613 ?

sorry for the slightly disgusting topic, thought you lot would have some ideas though
First time today that I have actually read the original post. Why did you not keep the horse in the grain store and put the grain in the stables?, at least grain can be removed with a wheelbarrow!!🙈🙈😉.
