How to prevent manflu...?

Writing this, laid up in bed, feeling like poo. Headache, sore throat, runny nose, lethargic...

I seam to be getting my share of this recently, every two to three months lately.

Any suggestions as to how to avoid it? General healthy living tips to prevent being struck down by this nonsense periodically?

Don't know about how to avoid it, but it sounds lke you've got what I had the other week. Was recommended to me today to gargle with Disprin 4 times a day. Don't know how well it works, but may be worth a try.

If you feel a dose coming on use echinacea drops in water ,it tastes that bad it scares the bugs away .. seriously though it doesnt always stop it but it makes the symptoms less severe and you recover a lot quicker (y)

Not sure about the flu jab, oh was really rough for about three weeks after one this year, I was OK this time but have been off the hooks after one before, I think we may well give it a skip next year !

Not sure
My gran was never right after getting a flu jab and never got over it and went down hill. Not saying it was the jab but bit of a coincidence that 3-4 days after having it went downhill.

are you sure it was a flu jab they gave her?!!?

on a similar line, a little lad i know was jabbed twice for measles or something and had fits and other issues as a result.....

Yes millions maybe do have the jab but will be some that don't take to it well like the examples mentioned here. As for Conspiracy theories i think not!
Well the sensible thing for most people, especially asthma sufferers like me and my daughter , is to get the flu jab in the autumn .
I was offering this advice to the OP, but three of you have jumped in with negative and probably coincidental problems .

Am sorry if have come across negative but that wasn't my intention at all, was just saying what happened in our family that's all. Am sure it works for the majority of folks but they will be a minority that don't quite take to it.

And I'm sorry about being insensitive to your grandmothers situation.
I think if the OP is getting bouts of flu every few months, maybe see the doctor and see if your short of something in your diet.
