how to set up a kv 337 mower

have bought a 337 mower this year as a second mower. nice mower to work with but i think it isnt set up right, now never had one before we are krone fans here and definitly the 337 cant cut as clean as 283 krone, it doesnt cut as tight in a laying crop.

i feel it is becasue i cant get the bed to tilt farward enough, ie leave less than a 3inch stubble. i ahve the rear wedge at the turn buckle adjusted fully up, but somehow i think the bed is still setting its own angle as in when the mower is set on the ground the bed levels with the ground, i can lift one side up so from anything i have read the downward pressure is right. only other thing i notice is the rear hood is setting past level-pointing down when mowing, to me it all just looks wrong, at least the conditioner hood should be level or slightly uphill?

it is a drawbar mower not giro-i bought it slightly because of this and that i couldnt find any nine foot krones, also the bed is as tight as new in this.

any help apprietiated

No experience of the 337 but on the later 4028, 4032 etc hitching height was critical. On swivel head models there was a measurement from the ground to the lower link pins, would assume drawbar models need to run at a set height too. Sounds like yours is too low at the front.
What blades are you using? I never got on well with the old style Taarup blade that was narrower at the tip and humped, the newer type, flat, square 'Supercut' blade is better. Don't think you can run twisted blades on the 337 because of the uneven number of discs.

these are genuine humped blades, not pointed though, dont like them, would prefer to run twisted but old man says that the genuine is better, not a hope, they loose thier edge and cant be reversed. i cant find any measurements or anything to work of for setting.

the giro head does have a set working height in the krone.

Haven't used a 337 so can't comment on set up, but I've got genuine humpback blades in a 307 and cleans the ground like a razor, very strong blades and durable.
