How to shift a 23 ton shipping container?

Matt Gregory transport worth a shout. Run a fleet of hiab mounted lorries.
I think the best bet is to buy an old Jumbo forklift, I have a few leads to follow off the net.
The vendor has one to load , if I had one I could use an ordinary flatbed to shift and lift off onto a plant trailer pulled by tractor to get onto site then lift off onto resting place.
I have two sites to get engines onto, one site may need five engines and taking into account that in future one or two might need shifting again to repair or replace and also that a jumbo forklift would be handy for building work it maybe be better to have one.
As ever if anyone knows of one, let me know, just needs to run and lift.

Our 3 tonne yard Forklifts get stuck in a cow shite on concrete. Going to need a well compacted site to work something that size.
My thought was to pick the container up off wagon , reverse 12 foot, , wagon moves away , tractor and trailer take its place, forklift back forward again and let down onto trailer.
Move forklift to site, pull T and Trailer in front of it, pick load up, trailer pulls away, lower forklift down onto site and reverse away empty.
Virtually no moving with load on forks.

Confused
How will there be very little load on the forklift, ?
23 ton is not to be messed with, think you may find it won’t skid along the Trailer, too much dead weight.

From experience of smaller Forklifts it is often the back wheels carrying large counterweight which cause problems. Often better with a load on balancing out and putting weight on drive wheels. Could well work but you will need a solid road I think.

best of luck with that

dont want to pee on your bonfire, but if not on concrete a big forklift will be a pig to move, as it will not travel on rough ground, and if it gets stuck it will be up to the fire box in no time, and it will be 30 ton, hardly a simple task to get it out,
and when you do the lift there will be 60 ton plus on the front axle, that takes holding up

so your thinking of spending 7.5k plus haulage to get it to site, pissing on with it and end up saving nothing, its not as though it will be much good for anything else,

you will be better off in the long run to just get a crane for the days you need 1

My fall back position is to drive the forklift onto concrete sleepers to transfer from lorry to tractor trailer, they won't go far.

A) Who's in a bad mood tonight then?

B) The machines I've seen for sale have been for sale for a while, 5k would be nearer the mark.

C) I could easily spend 5k on road building and crane hire which is dead money, this way I have an asset at least half paid for by the offset in work done.

Arctic hook lift?

Upto 24 tonne capacity will need some mods to the container body but makes moving it easy just back it. Down he road and push it off

Sorry mate but as stated there is no road to the site , there will be a track put in to the site this next week for diesel deliveries and service access.
To put a good enough road in for artic access will cost a fair wack.
