How to switch off Cortana & On-screen Keyboard?

Can someone kindly tell me how to banish Cortana and the On-screen Keyboard from my laptop screen?

Doesn't seem to be any way of switching these PITAs off in Windows 10.

Step 1: Turn off on screen keyboard

1. Open Start menu, type Settings in search bar and click on Settings.
   
   
2. Click on Ease of access and select keyboard.
   
   
3. Turn off the on screen keyboard.
   

Step 2: Turn off tablet mode if it is switched on.

turn off tablet mode, as it may also be the cause for the issue.

1. Open Start menu, type tablet mode settings in search bar and click on it.
   
   
2. Turn off the tablet mode option
