How to value a tractor?

I’m in the very early stages of trying to decide to upgrade a tractor but don’t really have a good idea of what it is worth to start the number crunching.

It’s a 2012 new Holland T6 -160 auto command but fairly well spec’d.

Front linkage with PTO
4 electric spools and a divert to 3rd service on front links as well.
50kph with radar speed monitoring
Air brakes
Push out hitch
Air conditioning
front LED lights
DAB radio
Good tyres with more than 50% tread left
Main dealer serviced from new and 5300 hours.
Overall condition is good and everything works as it should.

Been a very good bus but need a few more hp.

How much does spec alter values? Ball park what’s it worth as private sale?

How long is a piece of string? Probably worth about what you gave for it, ball park figure.

don’t really have a good idea of what it is worth to start the number crunching.

We have a couple of dealers round here who ultimately end up with most of the trade ins from all our main franchise dealers.

The best way to value your trade in is to talk to one of them 'cos that's where it's likely to end up. The franchise dealers ring them to ask what it's worth anyway as most of 'em don't have a clue.

Chances are you'll have somebody similar down your way.

Most down here if they are clean end up in R J McLeans yard. You could always ring and ask what it’s worth.

If your used tractor market is anything like it is now in North America, you could get close to what you paid for it. Recently, 20 y/o, well maintained, low hours, JD fetched more on the auction then it cost brand new.

Ask a dealer that buys them in then add about 10k if your selling privately as that’s what they seem to add to “trade” values as they need to make a killing i mean profit

If its of any use same spec but 200hp on a 15 plate with 4000 hours just been valued at £52,000 by a dealer where a lot fo used ones end up. He said private sale would be advertised at £60,000 with a view of selling somewhere in the middle.
