How wide can a mower without crimper/conditioner collect?

Hello, i’ve just gotten a 2,40 m wide disc mower without a conditioner. I’ve also gotten an old Orkel baler (the one that has an integrated forage harvester instead of a pickup, GP1202). This means that the baler can’t handle too much grass at once. By collecting the grass after the mower, i could eliminate the rake. This grass processor as they call it, is 1,45 meters wide inside.

Is it possible to make a 2,40 meter disc mower without a conditioner be able to have a 1,40 meter wide swath, if i make some swath collectors myself? Will this just clog the machine or make the grass get warm and rot? What do you great people on the forum reckon would be possible?

Make up some sheet metal adjustable deflectors. shouldn't be too hard providing your mower has somewhere suitable to fix/mount them.
Google will be your friend when comparing what other mowers have.
Avoid too short a deflector with too much angle.
Sward/crop length, thickness & forward speed while cutting will impact how successful the deflectors will be.
Earlier twin drum mowers left a narrow swath that didn't heat or rot so you should be O.K.

you will struggle as a disc mower doesn’t really throw gras at all. Just cuts and lays down behind. Some have a swath board or disc on the outside but only really moves it a foot at best.
Plus the crop is laid flat to the floor and will take some picking up without bringing stones with it
