I thought some might be interested in a few pics I took of some products being casted recently

Wax is injected in to the tooling to create an exact wax replica of the item

IMG_5594.jpg

They are then taken to have a shell put on them

IMG_5593.jpg

The shell is applied by turning in a runny clay and then sand blown in to the clay. Several layers are applied

IMG_5591.jpg

They are baked and the wax melted out to give you your complete shell

IMG_5590.jpg

Steel is then poured in to them and left to set

Shell is then removed

The pouring gate is then cut off

And then you have your agricultural parts

Thought it might interest a few of you

I think they look very impressive indeed, ideal bit of kit, just a shame they are so very expensive! Surprised nothing like it has been made over here.

They are going to be made in Germany for the European market I think.
There are a couple of copy’s in the world but the big problem for the other producers is the link points are patented and it’s hard to come up with a disc that is as good.
You can buy them in the uk atm
