There was a 250 model as well, by that time a few other firms had started making them as well.

We had a Fraser which seemed better made than Howard, until someone managed to roll it and twisted the chassis

Hillam went on to a 250 and then a Contractor model.

I think the models numbers refer to cu ft.

100 was 3 odd cu yard, 150 was 5, 200 was 7 and 250 8.5 from memory....ish, i think.

We had a new tullow 8.5 yd spreader back in the late 90s good spreader but slow and hard on the tractor.
Neighbouring dairy bought a new Fraser 10.5 or 12 cu yd tandem axle but they soon got rid of that as it would tear the PTO clutch out of thier TM 120 for fun.

We used to borrow a hispec if needed and it was geared faster. Took more power but emptied twice as fast.

Done the first job with my MS1000, (which is actually a 9-9.5 cubic yard)the other day. Would empty this light fluffy stuff In about a minute.

Seems geared for decent emptying time.

It's got the slurry plates on the chains that mean it really tears into stuff.

Didn't seem to be that hard to start, for the Case Farmall 115. One load I got very carried away and it took a bit of starting. But kept the starters a bit clear after that and no problem. Load in the picture was no problem at all. For FYM Ill leave a bit more clearance for the starters I think.
