I rarely use 9inch... 1st 9inch I've had.... It's punched well above its weight over 18 months or so. Gave up this morning. Proper one next time hence the question.

I've three Hitachi grinders, can't fault them, good value too.

I think they're still rebranded as HiKoki
Another vote for Hitachi/Hikoki I bought a 9" and got a free 4.5 inch from screwfix
Toolstation doing a similar deal

I have had a 9 inch Hitachi since February 2003 . I wouldmt remember what I did yesterday , so it's a miracle how I know the age of it . I was finishing feed barriers in a new slatted shed at the time .

Anyone have a Metabo grinder ? Any good ?
Are there 2 ranges of them ?

Metabo was bought out by Hitachi Koki a few years back.... I think but maybe wrong the Metabo stuff is their premium stuff similar to the blue/green Bosch stuff

Bosch Pro arrived today from FFX with other bits and bobs... Be working tomorrow if it's dry.
I still use the 9" Makita that I bought in 1987 - the 4" Bosch I bought around 2010 didn't last much more than a year.

I like to have 2 9s" and 2 4s" to save swapping discs around.

I rarely use the 9"... 3-year warranty will keep it going for 3 years.... Price divided by Warranty term. I'm happy.

4" No make Elcheapo gets hammered and been here 10 years aswell. Smells hot occasionally but it's earned it;s keep.

Hitachi for me. I bought a Flex brand previously but I killed the rotor by using it for cutting concrete, it didn't like the water and dust. It is on me as I shouldn't do that but the old hitachi has always done it, it had to come to the rescue and do the job, making weird noises along the way (hence why I bought the Flex) but still going strong after loads of abuse.

Also my hoof guy has always had hitachi and hikoki, he says they are the only one that take the abuse.
