How's this as a 6 yr rotation

Spring wheat, Peas, borage, sept drilled 1st wheat, second wheat oct drilling, winter barley, then back to spring wheat.

My idea is to put the spring crops all together to run down the black grass for three years then go back to 3 years of autumn establishment. I will have 60 ha of each block so I still get 180ha of wheat each year but only 1/3 of it will be a first wheat.

It will be great for spraying as I have a 3000 lt sprayer so just x2 tanks on each block.

My agronomist thinks it's crazy and I should carry on with a first wheat then break crop rotation. But I want a rotation to really reduce black grass not just to live with it.

Well I think doing 1st wheat, second wheat, barley and abck to spring wheat is a recipe for disaster myself. I'd go better with 1st wheat, wosr, 1st wheat, wbeans ,spring wheat etc. your spring crops should run the BG down but it will build quickly in so many winter cereals again.

I've got half the farm quote bad for black grass which came about from not getting pre ems on two years ago. The other half is very clean. So my idea was to push the clean part with autumn cereals in order to tidy up the other half.

You will also struggle with brome with so many cereals back to back and be selecting for resistance in other weeds as will be using the same/similar chemistry for several years
