What are people running them on. I here weight is more of an issue. 8 km is just a tidy speed. Got 200hp on the shaft. Would it be enough. Cheers
Surely you'd be better putting a press on the front? 750kg in the hopper must limit output on a 4m rig?We had a new one last year on a MF 6490 it was ok with it wouldn’t of want any less and it was a nice dry year. Got a 7724 coming in April for it. There a heavy toy as well had a ton on the front and only put 750kg in the drill at a time. But it’s the best combi we have had by a long way.
If one of them has font link to put the weight forward a bit it would help. We stopped with a 3m for a long time as lots of small fields and road work that’s why we went folding some days it would be on and off 5/6 times if it wasn’t folding. And I can go back to the yard of seed if needs be.Tidy. Our 6490 was 200 on the shaft. Got a 6497 or 7720. So should be ok. It's a bit crazy how much more a hydraulic folding is than straight. Andy guest refurb still looks good value for money.
Fair enough, I can see why that would work for you. You will see just as big in increase in output again going to a full hopper and carrying useful weight around. Splitting bags must be a right pain.6490 hasn’t got front links and was going this year so not worth putting on for one drilling season. It’s a fair increase in out put over a 3m box drill. We had a big ish jump in acres last year and can’t buy to mean toys in one year. Will a have a press on the new tractor.
Fendt 724 is a good matchWhat are people running them on. I here weight is more of an issue. 8 km is just a tidy speed. Got 200hp on the shaft. Would it be enough. Cheers
I think 724s are 240 on the Pto can do 8-10k on ploughing we're on the flat no banks with 150mm Coulter width. In autumn 2017 we were drilling in some awful conditions and didn't have a problem with dragging soil. What's she putting out on the shaft. Spoke to someone who said the drill drags in poor sticky conditions . I think he said it's the early one's with close spaces .
Too wide for our roads. Why are almost no one using duals in UK? I think it’s the best thing about going from 3 to 4 meters that we can use duals on ploughed ground.
You cant go on the road round here with duals on and with lots of small fields it wouldn’t be much fun taking them off 5/6 times a day.Why are almost no one using duals in UK? I think it’s the best thing about going from 3 to 4 meters that we can use duals on ploughed ground.
