Huge Copper Planter/Vat

Stolen Friday Morning from outside 88 year olds farm bungalow a very large Old Copper, about a meter high and meter across. Herts Police crime number 41/21752/21

That is a good Question @bravheart I cant tell you for sure (as its been nicked) it was Father in laws and he had greener fingers than I. It never suffered from water logging but I don't think it had a hole in the bottom either (dry part of the country sometimes) there was a lot of broken pots in the bottom where it had been emptied out though

Thanks for that and sorry to hear of your fils loss bet he was heartbroken.
I have a biggish pot just sitting here. It always seems 2/3 full of water never more never less.
It has an arm to suspend it over a fire or swing back out of the way and would like to make a feature of it in the garden. It would need some good foundations built but would be pointless if everything ended up waterlogged so was curious as to how it worked.

Those old coppers which were used for boiling water for washing laundry and making beer etc. Were very common in old farm houses. They were frequently full of small holes , which I suspect was the case here. But £2,400 🤔
