Husqvarna Seat

I've just changed my 12 year old Countax C600H lawn mower for a Husqvarna front deck one. I immediatey found that the seat didn't go back far enough and that it could do with being higher. I have fitted rails between the seat base and the mounting plate. They are made from 2 pieces of sliding door track, placed on their sides. At it's maximum rearward position, it's now 3.75" further back and 2" higher. I did the same thing on my Countax too.

EDIT.
The seat has gone back by 2.75" and not 3.75". I have an over optimistic tape measure. Anyway it's gone back as far as there is room for. I find now that the mower much easier to drive. Getting on and off is better too.

Thats the sort of thing used to do within days of getting any tractor with the first opportunity and not just the seats or mower to make them more comfortable to drive, I have an old New Holland combine seat on my mower as made to sit on for more than five minutes. It conjures up some funny pictures as makes me wonder where these things are made as I'am not long in the leg. The little Chines compact had a quite heavy seat mounting that sat on top of the hydraulic lift unit, so just drilled extra set of holes, it then covered the breather dipstick, just cut a bit out and welded it back on to leave a hole, also the oil filler stuck annoyingly out the back, basically turned out to the side much more sensible, seat is so fare back against its stops had to nib bit out the corners as lift arm would have touched.
