Hybrid Rye for AD?

Early harvest last week in June ,so good entry for rape or turnips.
seed a bit expensive, but doesn’t need a lot of chemicals .
Depends on what deal the AD will offer you. £1 per ton of DM seems standard with them harvesting .

Great crop to grow, costs are cheap but yields high. We've learnt that we need to get it sown early, several weeks of torrential rain just after sowing doesn't end well. Also get N on as early as is possible.

One of the reasons we stopped growing maize was the huge loss of biomass/organic matter and potash from whole cropping that I just didn't feel the price justified. I really don't know enough to quantify the values but it just didn't feel right... The same as selling the straw but on a larger scale.
