Do any of the DD brigade have experience of hybrid rye in a DD system? Im wondering what its like as an alternative to winter barley ?

Interested in agronomics - early vigour / establishment - do slugs like it?

Marketing it - any blockers? What were £/t and MOI like?

I drilled hybrid SU Performer at 60kg/ha, slugs love it especially at edges
Seed rate is very low I know but it tillers like hell
If you can find a buyer it’s a simple crop to grow, don’t neglect PGR
Hard and fast
I only use 120-130 units of N
I think it’s an under rated crop and well worth investigating your options
KWS have a good growers guide

Good photos - thanks for the pointers. What was your end market - or rather who bought your crop?
