Expensive seed but otherwise it’s cheap to grow. Puts up with drought better than other cereals. Lots of straw but slow to combine as a result. Yield probably on a par with a second wheat. I’ve got more booked for this autumn ….drill late September.

As already mentioned, expensive seed, 3 growth regs and cheap fungicides/fert. Total VC no establishment £440/ha. 3.7t ac, 7 bales/ac (4x3, 450kg)
