Hydraulic folding flat rollers

Thinking of upgrading our ancient
F H Burgess triple gang flat rollers for a set of hydraulic folding ones. Seems to be between walter watson and heva, are there any other brands to look at? Anyone got the heva 6.3m 'farmers model' set? Nowhere near as heavy as the Watson's but probably going to be heavier than our current set.

We've a Watson 10ft wide 3ft diameter lead roll with offset drawbar and tow hitch and the same size with a wheel carriage we can move on its own to an outfarm. Good for grass reseed as you can run them both inline. Fully folding 6m set would be nice but bit of a luxury for us. Fleming do a wide endtow roller now.

If you’ve hills and wet bits an18ft end tow would be best option I’ve hired a big fold out tripple Walter Watson a few times and it’s great in some fields and a absolute pain in others it will easily push the tractor about on banks if your not careful

What size tractor were you using the triple Watson's with @michael N123 ? They are a fair bit heavier than others on the market at 4 ton unballasted. Generally gentle slopes here but quite a few steep pitholes to contend with

When we are grass rolling in late spring it needs to be done when it’s wet because the clay soon turns rock hard so no stones get pushed in o_O and it’s not much good when the rollers bossing the tractor on wet grass crossways :ROFLMAO:

A newholland T6 165 and a valtra N134 both with weight blocks on
Where we hired them from said it was 9 ton and to be fair it felt it
Must have been filled with something heavy! Brochure quotes max. ballasted weight as 7 ton. Biggest tractor here is 135hp so sounds like we wouldn't want to put too much in them. We have the same problem as you, fields can go from being too wet to roll to being like concrete in a couple of days in April

Just refreshing this thread, looking at a set and the Dalbo are catching my eye as their not too heavy even when full. Anyone run a set?

Take a look at terratech they make them website awful but give Chris a ring decent well made gear at sensible money and don’t worry if you don’t like the orange paint he’ll paint them another colour

I ended up buying a set of the Watson ones and had no regrets. Neighbour hired them for a week last year and ended up buying a set for himself. They do a decent job even with no ballast in if conditions are right as they are 4t empty

I have a set of 20ft Micheal Moore folding rolls . Absolutely brilliant must have had them 20 years made from large diameter gas pipe . Very very heavy when ballasted up but on heavy drying clay awesome. Never found anything sold like them since .
